A 25-year old civil war ended today, Sri Lankan's president announced this today that they had achieved victory over the Tamil Tigers due to the death of their leader, Vellupillai Prabhakaran.Prabhakaran, dubbed as 'psychotic' leaded one of the most barbaric terrorist group, The Tamil Tigers. The Tamil Tigers was declared a terrosist organization by 32 countries and is responsible for the invention of the explosive suicide belt.
The Tigers is known to be the only terorist group who were responsible for the deaths of two world leaders; Former Indian Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi in 1991 and the former Sri Lankan President Ranasinghe Premadasa in 1993.
An estimated 70-80 thousand died during this civil war that took a quarter of a century to decimate.
whew! we wont be hearing much of the tigers on the news nowadays!
